COVID denied us the ability to create a physical venue, so the team at SparkCognition constructed a multi-user, online virtual venue in 3D!

Time Machine 2020 and 2021 were held in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and had to be reimagined as virtual events. This was a particularly difficult undertaking because the focus of the conference has always been on in-person networking, meaningful exchanges and live, interactive demonstrations of physical systems powered by AI. All of this became a challenge during the pandemic, but the team at SparkCognition demonstrated their usual flair for innovation by creating a 3D, virtual world online within which to host the Time Machine conference!

The live video presentations were supplemented by a virtual show floor that featured an extensive space and a large number of booths. Within the environment users could see avatars of each other, speak live to each other using voice communication and watch presentations and videos on surfaces within the virtual event environment.
