Kindi Contributor License Agreement
Version 1.0, 2026-10-30.
Thank you for your interest in Kindi. This agreement explains what happens when you send a contribution to Kindi. A contribution is code, documentation, benchmark data, a bug fix or any other material that you send to us for Kindi.
The short version
- You keep the copyright of your work.
- Everyone gets your contribution free, under Kindi's open-source license (now AGPL-3.0).
- Amir Husain can also include your contribution in the versions of Kindi that he licenses to commercial users.
- Your own fork is not affected. You can do what you want with it under the AGPL.
1. You keep your copyright
You keep all rights to your contribution. This agreement gives us a license. It does not transfer ownership.
2. The license that you give
You give Amir Husain, and any company that he controls or that receives Kindi from him, a license to your contribution. This license is:
- worldwide, non-exclusive, free of charge, perpetual and irrevocable;
- a license to use, copy, change, combine with other work, distribute and sublicense the contribution;
- valid for the open-source versions of Kindi and for the commercial licenses of Kindi.
3. Your contribution stays open
When we include your contribution in Kindi, we publish it under Kindi's open-source license. Everyone can use it under that license at no cost.
4. Patents
If you own a patent that your contribution uses, you give the same parties a license to that patent. This patent license is for your contribution and for Kindi with your contribution in it. It is free of charge and perpetual.
5. Your promises
- The contribution is your own work, or you have the right to send it.
- If your employer has rights to your work, your employer gave you permission.
- You tell us about third-party material in your contribution and about its license.
6. What we promise
- We do not have to accept a contribution.
- We can credit you as a Kindi contributor, if you agree. We use the name that you give us.
- We give no warranty, and you give no warranty. The contribution is "as is".
7. How to agree
Add this comment to your pull request or issue:

You agree one time. The agreement then applies to all your later contributions.
