Masterful fiction by one of the top Chinese science fiction authors, Liu Cixin, The Three-Body Problem trilogy is an absolute must-read. The sheer audacity of a story that spans millions of years, from its beginnings in post-World War II China to the death of the Universe, must be experienced by all lovers of science fiction. Liu is the real deal when it comes to well-thought-through scientific concepts manifested as instruments to extend the story. There is much one wants to comment on specifically, but that risks spoiling the story for readers. Suffice to say, aliens, an unfriendly universe, the fundamental laws of physics, artificial intelligence, nano-technology… it’s all here.
